How we handle your information.

We take privacy seriously. You share sensitive things with us. Here is exactly what we do with that.

Who we are

Two is a private introduction service for people seeking a serious, committed relationship with the intention of marriage. We operate in Australia and are subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

When this policy refers to "Two", "we", "us", or "our", it means the operator of this platform. When it refers to "you", it means any person who applies for or holds membership.

What we collect

Application information: your name, email address, phone number, age, city, country, occupation, education level, and your written response to the application questions.

Profile information: after approval, we collect additional information to build your relationship profile, including voice recordings, values, lifestyle preferences, and relationship intentions. Voice recordings are sensitive information. By proceeding with onboarding, you explicitly consent to their collection and processing.

Photographs and facial analysis: the photos you provide are analysed to produce attributes used in matching, including an automated assessment of facial appearance. Facial data is biometric information (sensitive information) and is processed only with your consent.

Identity verification: government-issued identification and a selfie photograph, used solely for verification purposes. These are sensitive information and collected only with your explicit consent.

Location: an Australian postcode and suburb, used to match you with people within a reasonable distance.

Usage data: technical information such as device type, browser, and interaction logs, collected to operate and improve the service.

Why we collect it

We collect personal information to assess your application, create your relationship profile, match you with a compatible introduction, and deliver the service.

We do not collect information for advertising purposes. We do not sell your data. We do not share your information with third parties except as described in this policy.

How we use your information

Your application is reviewed by our team personally. Your profile information is used to identify compatible introductions, subject to human matchmaker review and approval before any introduction is made.

Voice recordings are transcribed and used to extract structured profile data. The raw recording is deleted after processing.

Your contact details are used only to communicate with you about your membership and introductions.

Who we share it with

We use a number of trusted third-party service providers ("sub-processors") to operate the platform, and share only the minimum information necessary for each to function:

Anthropic (AI matching and profile analysis); OpenAI (voice transcription); Deepgram (real-time speech recognition during onboarding); ElevenLabs (synthesised voice for the onboarding assistant); Voyage AI (profile embeddings used for matching); Face++ (facial appearance analysis); Persona (identity verification); Daily (video for virtual dates); Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage hosting); Resend (transactional email); Stripe (payments); and Expo (push notifications).

Most of these providers are based outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. By using the service, you consent to your information — including, where relevant, voice recordings, photographs, and facial/biometric data — being transferred to and processed by these providers overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, however we cannot guarantee equivalent protections apply in all jurisdictions.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. We do not share your information with other members except as part of a mutual introduction, and only after both parties have accepted.

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the safety of any person.

Automated processing and AI

Matching uses automated processing. An AI system ranks potential introductions for you based on your profile, embeddings derived from it, and an automated assessment of your photos. No introduction is delivered on the basis of automated processing alone — every match is reviewed and approved by a human before it is made.

You may ask us not to apply automated facial/appearance analysis to your photos by contacting privacy@two.app; this may reduce match quality but will not exclude you from the service.

How we store and protect it

Your data is stored in encrypted databases. Access is restricted to authorised team members only. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections, access controls, and regular security reviews.

We retain your information for as long as your membership is active. If you request deletion or your membership ends, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

In the event of an eligible data breach, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections if it is inaccurate, and request deletion of your information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@two.app. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
